Meet Paige Miller, a remarkable individual whose journey is a testament to resilience, determination, and the power of self-advocacy. Born with Retinopathy of Prematurity, Paige has faced significant visual challenges from birth. Despite these obstacles, she has not only navigated her way through life with grace but has also achieved inspirational milestones.
Paige’s most challenging accomplishment stems from her lifelong battle with low vision. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries and challenges, she maintained her self-determination which has allowed her to continue the path to reach her goals. During the Covid Pandemic in 2020, she discovered a passion for policy while working as a reporter for her college’s local news channel. This newfound interest led her to pursue a degree in Law at the University of Arizona in Tucson. Paige is halfway through her schooling and is set to take the BAR exam after three more semesters, marking another significant milestone in her journey.
Throughout her educational journey, Paige has relied on various assistive technology to achieve her goals. From learning braille in her early schooling years to using large print and note-taking aids, she always adapted to her environment resiliently. In high school, she began using an iPad, and now, she utilizes the MagniLink TAB in tandem with JAWS software to aid her academic pursuits. Paige plans to continue using these technologies in her future legal career, ensuring she can effectively present and reference her work in court.
